The MicDrop Agency Extends ClimateTech Connect PR Agency of Record Partnership Through 2028

Renewal Builds on Successful Media Campaigns and MicDrop’s Growing Presence Across Climate Tech, Insurtech and Construction Tech

TORONTO, Oct. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The MicDrop Agency, an award-winning PR and marketing agency specializing in technology-driven industries and named to The PR Net 100 for 2026, has officially extended its partnership through 2028 as public relations agency of record for ClimateTech Connect, the premier conference uniting insurers, real estate, corporate risk management, investors, policymakers and innovators to advance climate resilience and adaptation at scale. The partnership has already brought tier-one newsrooms such as Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Financial Times,The New York Times, Reuters and Politico to the conference floor, connecting reporters with leaders from Munich Re, Nationwide, Gallagher Re, World Bank, Swiss Re, Travelers, J.P, Morgan, and other organizations shaping how the world prepares for climate risk.

The renewal caps a year of growth for MicDrop. Founded in Toronto in 2021 by Katie Zeppieri, with a U.S. office in Austin, the firm works with high-growth technology companies in construction tech, AI, insurtech and climate tech, and more than doubled its client roster this year. Alongside ClimateTech Connect, MicDrop serves as agency of record for ENR FutureTech and Insurtech Insights USA, and expands into Europe next month as agency of record for the inaugural Groundworks Summit, a construction technology gathering in London on November 11.

Now heading into its third edition, ClimateTech Connect has become a gathering place for organizations shaping how insurers, lenders and governments prepare for climate risk. Founder and CEO Megan Kuczynski is a global thought leader with more than two decades in business media and conference leadership, and built the event around rigorous, cross-sector conversation. She authored “Insurtech Talk” for Modern Insurance Magazine, and frequently profiles the leaders shaping the future of climate risk in Risk2Resilience, ClimateTech Connect’s companion publication. MicDrop will continue leading media strategy for the conference’s 2027 and 2028 editions, including the Washington, D.C. flagship and NYC Climate Week programming, with Zeppieri joining onstage for both editions.

Since ClimateTech Connect launched in 2025, MicDrop has run media campaigns across two spring conferences and two NYC Climate Week editions. At ClimateTech Connect 2026, more than a dozen attending journalists conducted on-site interviews with speakers and attendees, and conference news shared by MicDrop reached nearly 40,000 readers.

“We’re seeing climate risk show up in insurance premiums, construction budgets and decisions about where to build,” said Katie Zeppieri, Founder and CEO of The MicDrop Agency. “Megan has done an incredible job bringing together some of the leading minds and voices in climate resilience, building a community that reflects both her vision and the caliber of this event. We’re proud to continue helping ClimateTech Connect bring their expertise and solutions to a wider audience. Our work across construction tech, insurtech and climate tech gives us a strong understanding of where these conversations intersect.”

Climate Central counted 23 billion-dollar weather and climate disasters across the United States in 2025, totaling $115 billion in losses. ClimateTech Connect convenes insurers, reinsurers, financial institutions, government leaders and innovators working to bring those costs down.

“Climate resilience asks much of anyone trying to explain it. It draws on actuarial science, public policy and engineering at once, and it rarely belongs to a single beat,” shared Megan Kuczynski, Founder and CEO of ClimateTech Connect. “MicDrop has understood this since our first edition, giving journalists thoughtful access to people doing this work. I am eager to keep building on it together.”

ClimateTech Connect returns to Washington, D.C. for its third edition April 7 and 8, 2027, moving to Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The two-day program, built for cross-sector collaboration, includes keynotes, masterclasses, TED-style talks, an expo hall, a start-up stage and a Global Pitch Competition.
